Born to John L. and Louise Clasper Rumely, she inherited a lineage famous for early farm equipment and her mother's artistry, yet she carved her own path in art. Her parents lived in Kerhonkson, New York, where her mother illustrated various creative projects. Janet stayed in upstate New York, living the rest of her life in the same farmhouse she moved into at 19. Her delightful winter and holiday images, featuring scenes of snow, animals, and stars, bring peace, companionship, and joy, continuing to be a beacon of warmth and nostalgia during the holiday season!
