Mele & Co. "Simone" Mahogany Wood Jewelry Box
Mele & Co. "Simone" Mahogany Wood Jewelry Box
Mele was founded in 1912 when Italian immigrant Emidio Mele and his wife opened a shop on New York City's Mulberry Street. There Emidio focused on designing and building elegant jewelry displays for stores and eventually cases for home storage. It was not long before Emidio's designs and craftsmanship attracted customers from the city's historic Fifth Avenue.
Emidio's sons took the business further, introducing the iconic musical jewelry box, the timeless twirling ballerina style, and earning the moniker "The Foremost Name in Jewel Cases."
Now in the third generation of family ownership and over 100 years in business, Mele & Co. continues to infuse the heritage of family into each jewelry box and to offer innovative and timeless designs for years of happiness and sentimental memories.
One wouldn't be surprised to find the Mele & Co. Simone jewelry box aboard the Orient Express, confidant and curator of a grand dame's jewels. Sensuous yet sophisticated, this jewelry case seems transported from an earlier, more refined era. Its silken finish and distinctive oval cut-out necklace doors make this a jewelry chest all will covet. Most importantly, its storage will keep your treasures safe and clean.
